Wind Generation

Wind generation captures the energy contained in the wind. The wind is a result of atmospheric motions caused by the heating of the atmosphere by the sun, the irregularity of the earth's surface, and the rotation of the planet. Wind flow patterns and speeds which vary greatly and are modified by bodies of water, differences in terrain and vegetation. We use wind energy for many purposes: flying a kite, sailing a boat and even producing clean electricity.

Wind power describe the process where the wind is used to produce clean electricity. Wind turbines convert “kinetic” energy in the wind into “mechanical” power. Mechanical power can be used for specific tasks historically such as pumping water or grinding grain in flour or with the use of a generator can convert this mechanical power into electricity via the use of a wind turbine.

A wind turbine works opposite to a fan. Instead of using electricity to make air move, wind turbines use air movement to make electricity. The wind turns the blades, which rotate the shaft, which connects to a generator and in return produces electricity
